How To Disinfect your glasses to help prevent COVID-19Did you know that your spectacles can potentially transfer viruses such as Covid-19 to or eyes, nose and mouth?This is because viruses and bacteria are easily transferred from our surroundings to our hands and then from our hands to our spectacles.Research has shown that the corona virus can remain in glass surfaces for as long as 9 days.The good news is that disinfecting your glasses is easy.- Clean your glasses with a mixture of soap and lukewarm water.-Alcohol lens wipes work just as well.-Dry your glasses with a microfiber cloth.Preferably the one given by your optometrist.-Do not use rubbing alcohol, bleach, ammonia, vinegar or lemon juice.It may be too harsh for the coatings on your lenses.Don’t forget to practice social distancing, wear a mask when visiting us, and wash your hands with soap and water.STAY SAFE!
